## Description
The Field Research Technician position within Seeds & Traits R&D; will contribute to field project management for research activities at the site. In addition, the position must participate in overall site activities to support the achievement of company deliverables for Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S;), people development, and budget success.
The primary purpose of this job is to supervise and participate in field activities related to corn breeding and research nursery work.
Primary responsibilities will include:
Be actively involved in the implementation of the site's EH&S; safety program
Supervise work crews and participate in seed processing, seed set-up, planting, pollinating, detasselling and harvesting nursery activities
Supervise work crews and participate in leaf tissue and ear sampling activities
Perform field scouting activities to identify field pests and agronomic issues
Be an active and engaged member of all site work-teams
This position is located in Kauai, Hawaii, USA.
## Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum of at least one year of experience in an agricultural field or farm
Agricultural research experience would be preferred
Effective communication skills and good organizational skills
Basic computer skills and familiarity with Office software (Excel, Powerpoint, Word, etc.)
